As most of us know, the $69 billion deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard was first announced nearly two years ago and despite the problems they have run into over the course of those almost two years, Microsoft are hoping that the acquisition of Activision Blizzard could be completed by 13th October 2023 as we reported in another article: Microsoft’s Acquisition Of Activision Blizzard Could Happen Next Week.
Activision Blizzard is now saying that they hope to start bringing their games to Xbox Game Pass as early as 2024 which is amazing news for gamers who make use of Game Pass to play video games.
Microsoft has expressed their want to start offering as many Activision Blizzard games as it possibly can within its Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass service which would include games from Activision Blizzard’s huge catalogue of amazing games as well as new Activision Blizzard games but that will not be something that will happen straight away.
A statement was released by Activision Blizzard on Monday the 9th of October 2023 which you can read below:
As we continue to work toward regulatory approval of the Microsoft deal, we’ve been getting some questions about whether our upcoming and recently launched games will be available via Game Pass, while we do not have plans to put Modern Warfare III or Diablo IV into Game Pass this year, once the deal closes, we expect to start working with Xbox to bring our titles to more players around the world and we anticipate that we would begin adding games into Game Pass some time in the course of next year.

Of course, as much as we would love to see new releases and already released games come to Game Pass Xbox and Game Pass PC as soon as possible, waiting is definitely going to be worth the wait to ensure that when they do eventually start coming to the service, everything is running smoothly and not plagued with issues.
