I do not know what I intended to achieve when I set this goal for myself. I saw someone do a #blogaday in January and I thought it looked fun. Then I thought it looked daunting. Then I thought it looked impossible. Working shifts, full time, running a house, being a parent, keeping up with the goings on of friends and family, yet trying to find the time to post twenty eight good reasonable quality blog posts. Insane, right?
BUT what it has done is engaged my brain. It’s got me thinking. Got me working out what to post, how to post, when to sit down and write, when to research and review. It’s not ever going to be an easy thing to do. Creating content when you’re not a natural content creator is far from easy.
But so far – and I admit I am only five posts in – it’s been rather enjoyable. I feel tested but not out of my comfort zone. There’s still a long way to go, however, but I have confidence that I’ll get there.
When I began I was concerned that I would struggle to come up with good content to fill the twenty eight posts but with necessity being the mother of invention* that hasn’t been an issue so far. It seems that requiring subjects to write about I’m storing away ideas and creating a log for the subjects of future posts.
I guess I’ll see how I feel towards the end of the month. Maybe I’ll be struck down by writers block. Perhaps the challenge I set myself will defeat me. If you don’t try you cannot succeed though right?
The one thing I am hoping to get from this experience is the motivation to continue writing. To take enjoyment from putting together something that maybe half a dozen people will read. To feel like when I push that publish button I’ve achieved something; even if that achievement is only known to me. If I can get that from these twenty eight posts then I’ll be happy.
