Seems so!
A few months ago now when I was looking for methods of increasing the reach of RTS HQ, I contacted Nuno from Strategy and Wargaming. I had been reading his blog off and on for a few years and liked his style. I thought maybe he would be interested in a link exchange or something like that. Perhaps a guest post slot. Who knows?
Nuno and I got talking and he mentioned that he would like to do a podcast about strategy games. It was almost mentioned in passing, but I work in a bit of an obsessive compulsive way. Around the end of July we exchanged some emails about a potential podcast, and now, just three months later we have a website, a team of five hosts, an editor, all the social media you could shake a stick at, and three episodes in the tank ready to deploy from November 1st. It went from a ‘how would this sound?’ to a fully fledged project which has eaten into my free time greatly and has become my major focus.
My projects are many and plentiful, but Critical Moves is, right now, the one with the most potential to be something big.
Here’s a little trailer to give you a taste of what’s to come:
It’s really exciting and also a little terrifying. We’re going to launch next week with our first episode and expose our podcast to the world. A world of criticism maybe? But also a potential world of success. Time will tell.
I have to be confident that this will be good. I have listened to the two episodes we produced and I actually forgot that I was listening to our podcast I thought I was listening to a podcast. Brian, our editor, said that it is really good. I take some confidence from that. He knows what he’s talking about. I have to trust the process and hope that good things come from a lot of time and a lot of energy. Time will, as always, tell.
