Dear Jamie,
I think last year was a difficult one for me with moving house, my Dad dying and other crappy little events. I remember back to your visit at Halloween and how I realised then that we’re not as close as we used to be, and probably never would be again. You were my very best friend for a very long time and we went through a lot of experiences together. School, girls, drink, college, drugs. We shared a love of good music and getting drunk. I always thought we would be best friends forever.
Alas, it was not to be, and when I decided to leave Grimsby it set off a series of events which culminated in Halloween’s unfortunate events.
I am sorry. I’ll always be here if you need me, but I think it’s the end of the road for you and me in many respects.
Best wishes for the future.
Alan
