Friday Night

So last week was pretty much a waste. But not really. I dunno, I haven’t decided. The week seemed to be stupidly short; I was working Tuesday and Wednesday, so only two days. Managed to waste the two days and didn’t really get much done at work. I’m disenchanted with the company though, I mean, I don’t believe in it any more and I guess I haven’t for a long time. I can’t help but think that we’re going down the tubes too quickly to stop the rot. Wednesdays notable events were buying a leet MP3 player which arrived today, and getting together with Neil. I haven’t seen him in a a year or so now, so it was good to hook up and have a chat. He was up for the funeral of Aiden Jack which I couldn’t bring myself to attend. Neil never met the poor kid, so I guess it is easier when you cannot visualise who the funeral is for.

Thursday I was off due to feeling pretty ill. I think it must have been the chicken I ate. Spent all night throwing up so there was no way I was going to be at work. It was a chance to see my Mother who has been signed off on the sick due to hurting her leg doing something or other. We had a nice chat about stuff. About the future, about the past, about family. She also talked at length about my Dad and told me something I guess I would probably have preferred not to know. Things about her mistreatment at the hands of the bastard. Let’s just say that the chance of me having a peaceful meeting with my Dad again have vanished. When I consider, first, the way he abused my Mother and second, the way he screwed up the life of my little brother, it is easy to see why I have nothing but contempt for him. I guess I always knew he was a nasty bastard, and I think part of that knowledge comes from the darkness I know is inside me, but having those traits vocalised by someone I care about kinda hits home in a way that mere speculation and thought does not. I’m not happy with him, and that is putting it lightly.

Today I had booked off. I’ve been and paid off the final instalment of my holiday (£600 ouch!!), to the opticians for a contact lens assessment, to the supermarket where I (once again) spent stupid money. Over £100 on groceries. I don’t eat that much, so how did I manage to spend £100!? Blame the woman; it’s easy that way. Finally I’ve been over to try and help Jenny’s Dad with his data cable for his phone. Couldn’t get it to work, but I know why it doesn’t work which is the first step in fixing the problem.

So now it’s twenty to ten on a Friday night and I’m bored and blogging. I think I’ll have an early night. It’s the wedding tomorrow so having an early one might be a good idea.

We’ll see.
