Looking for Minecraft Alternatives? Try These Exciting Similar Games

Minecraft, the iconic sandbox game, is not only the highest-selling video game but also ranks on the list of the most played games. Even though Minecraft enjoys a huge fan following, not everyone may find it appealing. Likewise, some people might be looking for something similar to Minecraft for a change. If you find yourself in these situations, here are some best options to explore.

The Sandbox: This is my personal favorite game. It has similar elements to Minecraft but goes a little further enabling the players to earn crypto tokens and NFTs. You can start playing the game for free but in order to progress in the game, you will have to buy in-game items like tokens and NFTs. Just like in Minecraft, you can build and create your own world in The Sandbox. The game is available on Windows PC, iOS, and Android devices.

Terraria: Despite being a 2D game, Terraria allows you to explore, craft, build, paint, and combat with various creatures just like in Minecraft. Each world you explore in Terraria is filled with limitless possibilities, from digging deep underground to building towering bases in the sky. You can conquer bosses, recruit NPCs, and discover unique items and biomes. You can play the game on Android, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, etc.

Roblox: Roblox is a game creation platform. Even though Roblox doesn’t offer gameplay like Minecraft or the crafting and building world, it does allow you to create your own game and explore games created by others. In order to create a game on Roblox, you need skills in Lua, which is comparatively an easy programming language. Roblox is available on multiple platforms such as Windows, iOS, Android, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4/5, Meta Quest, etc.

Lego Worlds: Lego Worlds is a Lego-themed game where you can build and create in a 3D environment just like in Minecraft You can collect items and decorations and use them to customize your world. You can also modify landscapes with terraforming tools or construct your unique creations using the brick-by-brick editor. The game is available on Windows, PS4/5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.

Satisfactory: Satisfactory is an open-world factory-building game, where you can create vast warehouses and factories to store and process materials, both above and below ground. In the game, you can collect vast resources that most Minecraft players enjoy. Sometimes you might even find a more complex experience than Minecraft. It is a first-person game that you can play alone or with your friends on Windows via Steam or Epic.

  1. I will never touch Roblox, personally. It just seems … odd to me.

I tried Lego Worlds, it doesn’t seem like its getting anymore updates. Never heard of “The Sandbox” though, hmm…

  2. Funny enough there was a time where I refused to play Minecraft, but loved Terraria. I was wanting to get my friends and my spouse into Terraria, but they never got into the game. I progressed somewhat in the story too, but I stopped playing after a update since they changed how you could zoom into the level. I played on my Xbox One S, I’m sure it’s probably better to play it on a PC though. As for the other titles listed, I think the one I’m most interested in is The Sandbox since you can earn crypto tokens from playing the game.

  3. I do love to play creative games and I did play Minecraft for quite some time (making my own world) but once I saw Satisfactory I realized how complex games can be! Maybe I enjoy minimalistic concept of building but it is still wonderful to see some developers put so much effort in making everything possible.

I haven’t played Roblox even dough I heard many people are into it. Maybe that’s the reason 😀

  4. I have been a huge fan of Minecraft for many years since I was little but I will admit that sometimes, you can get somewhat burned out on the game as it is somewhat the same thing if you don’t play the survival mode.

Roblox is a great alternative and something I tend to play a lot of as there is a huge range of games to play on there so less chance of becoming burned out as quickly.

Lego Worlds is something I have not checked out but have enjoyed the Lego games in the past so will be checking this out!

  5. Roblox is probably just as big as Minecraft, at least in my neck of the woods. I constantly see children wearing robox t-shirts, backpacks, and other merch. Minecraft is great for playing on your own but Roblox has way more mini-games and multiplayer options which kids tend to enjoy more.
