Saturday last, just three days from official release from pot day, I was round at a friend’s house for the Haye vs Harrison fight. When a boxer says, ‘I stopped the fight in the round I wanted to stop it in and, I could have finished it earlier but I had a lot of money on round three’, and still takes a cut of the pay per view proceeds, you know something is up.
What about the fans, mate? Don’t give a toss about them lining your pockets whilst you make a mockery of the sport? This ain’t WWE, you know.
But, I digress. Pot off time.
Several beers had been consumed by this point, and it did seem like a good idea at the time….
Despite the high levels of drunkenness, the relief of having the pot off was palpable. It felt sooo good. At the time I didn’t think about what the Doctor might say when I went for my appointment on the Tuesday, and as it happens I didn’t need to worry. When I told him the removal had been a DIY job, he just laughed at me and shook his head. It probably happens more often than you’d think. I have to go back again in five weeks for a check to see how it is healing, but so far so good and, despite a little bit of pain from time to time, it feels good and I’m starting to use it more.
