My introduction to gaming occurred in 1991 when I got my hands on a grey import Sega MegaDrive and Sonic the Hedgehog. Fourteen years later, and I’m finally in heaven.
I was out in town today doing some Christmas shopping, and as is inevitable, I ended up picking up a few goodies for myself. The Sonic Mega Collection Plus and the Capcom Classics Collection. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord.
The Sonic collection features Sonic One, Two, Three, Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3D, Sonic Spinball and Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine. Also, from the Game Gear, Sonic, Sonic Chaos, Sonic Drift, Sonic Labyrinth and Sonic Blast. Finally there is a series of Sonic comics, movies and illustrations included.
The Capcom Collection features 22 old school arcade games including 1942 & 1943 (scrolling shoot ’em up), Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Ghouls ‘n Ghosts and Super Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, as well as Street Fighter II, SF II Champion Edition and SF II Hyper Fighting.
Finally my search for the gaming Holy Grail is over*

*That is, of course, until I finally get my P.C. fixed or alternatively buy a new one. I should have had one delivered yesterday, but Dixons can’t even deliver two boxes without tripping over themselves in an effort to see who the company’s biggest moron is.
