Paradox Interactive has revealed that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is back on track with the assistance of developer, The Chinese Room.
This exciting announcement took place at PAX West, accompanied by confirmation that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will unveil its gameplay in January 2024 and is slated for release in the autumn of 2024.
Serving as the sequel to the original 2004 game, Bloodlines 2 invites players to explore the shadowy depths of Seattle, where vampires grapple for survival and supremacy. As an Elder vampire, players will encounter intriguing characters, navigate intricate political webs, prowl the city streets for prey, and engage in intense combat, all while managing their insatiable thirst for blood.
Throughout the game, players must remain vigilant in their surroundings to avoid breaching the Masquerade, the paramount rule of secrecy that conceals vampire society from the human world.
This revival of Bloodlines 2 comes after a significant hiatus, following the departure of the game’s original developer, Hardsuit Labs, in June 2023. Alongside the promise of more details about the game this month, Paradox also committed to providing refunds to those who had pre-ordered any edition of the game.
Originally scheduled for a Q1 2020 release, the game looked set to languish in development hell, but this recent announcement suggests that it is now back on the right path.
